His throne name, Neb-Khepru-Ra or Neb-Khepreru-Re (Nebkheperure), is depicted in hieroglyphs as a basket (Neb) (which looks like a filled half moon) topped by a scarab (Khepruru) topped by a solar disk (Ra or Re).
