| I am a huge, white, winged bird, great feathers stretching out, tasting
the wind. I stand at the edge of a precipice and am completely unafraid. Rather, the
streams of air, the currents, waves, drafts, all call to me alluringly, sirens of the
ether. "Play with us, merge with us, tumble with us. Fly away, fly away!" I
stand with the wind in my feathers, tasting the wind. It tastes of rivers, trees,
mountains and clouds. I know that if I hurl myself into it and soar toward the sun, I
shall never wish to come back to earth. That I will have released everything that is of
the earth and become a creature of the sky.
I extend my arms, my winged arms, balance, adjust, aim, plummet, soar!
And I am gone, gone, gone! No longer bound to the earth. I belong to the sky!
