I have all the love in the world
for you--
you need never steal it from another,
nor try to trick another into loving you.
You need never present a False Self to another or sacrifice
yourself or throw yourself away to get love.
You need not give sex for love, or buy gifts for love,
or accept inferior treatment for love.
Because the truth is,
the only love you can really make use of
is the love inside of you.
And this is the Love of God, in the very fabric of your cells.
As you read these words, you begin to realize this--
that all the love you will ever need is inside of you,
and you can never get it from another.
This does not mean that you should isolate from
or ignore others.
You are human, and your human nature craves
company and attention.
Besides, there is much love work for you to do for
and around others.
But remember as you give a smile or an act of kindness,
the love you feel is the love within,
not the love without. |
