Plaque - Pharaoh crowned by Nekhbet and Wadjet
Representing the Upper and Lower Nile, Nekhbet and Wadjet legitimize the pharaohs claim to rule over the Two Lands. Note the combination of the white and red crowns on the pharaoh's head. 9 3/4 inches long x 7 1/2 inches wide
The cobra was the symbol of Lower (Northern) Egypt and of the goddess Wadjet (Uadjet), and can be seen poised in the front of many of the headresses worn by the Pharoahs. This symbolilzed that the goddess would strike anyone who tried to harm the king. Approx. 1 1/2 inches tall.
