Lakshmi, Goddess of Beauty and Wealth
Lakshmi, or Mahalakshmi, is the Hindu goddess of beauty, wealth, love and fertility, and you can't get much better than that! Every year, millions of Hindus in India her festival Dwali (also Deepavali) in late October or early November of each year. Her celebration is known as the "Festival of Lights", and it is one of the major celebrations of the year, commemorated with lamps, candles, colorful lights on business buildings and fireworks. It celebrates the triumph of good over evil, and a new beginning. Lakshmi is the consort of Vishnu, one of the three gods of the Hindu Trinity.
