King Tut's Throne - Life Size
Breath-taking is too small a word for this magnificent item. The throne, which we've actually had the privilege of sitting in, is truly full-sized. The seat is wide and will easily hold a 6 ft, 200-lb man. (The chair is cold-cast resin, so there are weight restrictions--if your 400lb cousin comes to visit--hide the throne!)
The detail is utterly spectacular, taken from the actual Royal Throne found in Tutankhamun's tomb. The scene depicted shows Tut and his young wife Ankhsenaten in a touching, very informal pose. The back of the seat, although not pictured, is also heavily decorated. This is another item on WizardSteve's wish list. And another reason why we need a bigger house!

One of the most important, yet little-known, queens of ancient Egypt, Hetepheres was daughter of Cheops, wife of Sonofru and mother to Khufu--the builders of the 3 great pyramids. She was buried with honor by her husband, and many of her personal articles have provided insight into the lifestyles of the ancient Egyptian rich and famous. She may have been one of the longest-living members of the royal family of the 4th Dynasty.
