Items on this page are replicas of items that would have been used or involved in the elaborate Egyptian funeral preparations and rituals, including mummies, canopic jars with Qebsenuef, Duamutef, Imsety and Hapy, and the four canopic goddesses Isis, Selket, Neith and Nepthys.
The museum replica statuary on this page is all hand-painted cold-cast resin.

Large Canopic Jar - Hapy
Not to be confused with the Nile river god Hapi, Hapy, the fourth of the human sons of Horus, guarded the lungs of the deceased. He is symbolized with the baboon's head, and is associated with the guardian goddess Nephthys. His direction is the North, and he was associated with the sacred city of Buto.

Golden Canopic Goddess Selket
Brought to world attention during the museum tour of Egyptian antiquities from the Tomb of King Tutanhkamun during the 1970's, the original Selket (Serqet or Serket) Scorpion Goddess statue guarded the great gilded chest containing Tut's canopic jars. Faithfully reproduced here, this beautiful, delicate golden Selket is the perfect size to fit anywhere.

Spectacular! The photos do not do these new canopic jars justice! The four jars in this series (see the other 3 on this page) are incredible. The head is the lid, and this would be a perfect place to hide special items. We actually have some customers using these as funeral urns for pets (We know--that's SO depressing!). Better yet--use it as a cookie jar! |

Another human son of Horus, Imsety, depicted with a human head, guarded the liver, and was associated with the guardian goddess Isis. He also represented the South, and was associated with the city of Hierakonpolis.

Set of 4 Canopic Jars
Kebehseneuf (Falcon head), Hapy (Baboon head), Imsety (Human head), and Duamutef (Jackal head). They were genii, human Sons of Horus, charged with protecting the deceased person's intestines, liver, stomach and lungs, respectively. Each of these genii correspond to one of the canopic goddesses and one of the compass directions.
